Produced at an above-average/elite level against average competition, but lacked consistency when facing above average/elite competition. Exhibits high upside skills, and needs an additional season or two of development.
The player either performed at an average/below average rate in college, but has the elite level size and athleticism needed for his position. The player was underdeveloped at the high school or college level and needs more development, or the player lacks the work ethic required to play at a high level.
Slater opted out of the 2020 season due to the pandemic. He is on the rise on draft boards because of his versatility. He is a scheme friendly player and with ability to play on the interior if necessary. Slater's ability to hold Chase young in check in 2019 is one reason he is being reassessed as a potential first-round pick.
