PLAYSTYLE AND SCHEME FIT

At 6'4" and 250 pounds, he has the size to play either defensive end or outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense, or defensive end in a 4-3 defense. Additionally, he has shown good speed and agility for his size, which could make him a potential fit in a variety of defensive schemes. Ultimately, his ability to adapt and develop his skills at the NFL level will be the key factor in determining his scheme fit.

PASS GAME ANALYSIS

Felix Anudike-Uzomah is considered one of the top technicians at the edge position. His football IQ, his understanding of how to play with good leverage combined with his first-step quickness is what NFL Scouts are talking about the most. He has proven he can win the edge in more ways than one on film. He can get over and flatten his path to the QB or work underneath his blocker to get pressure. Ultimately, he can create in different ways off the edge and is not a player who needs a lot of refinement from a technical standpoint.

RUN GAME ANALYSIS

In the run game, Uzomah uses his quickness to defeat blockers (similar to his pass rush first-step quickness). He has moments of inconsistency as a run defender struggling to effectively detach from stronger and more technical run blockers. When he fails to detach, he generally ends up in the wrong gap, effectively removing him from the play. His functional strength as a run defender is a big question mark.

FINAL REPORT

At the NFL level, Anudike-Uzomah is a versatile scheme player. He can play with a hand down or standing up, and because he is a technician, defensive coaches could deploy him both ways as needed. He does have question marks as a run defender, he can be undisciplined, and at times blockers can latch on and move him away from his intended gap. Overall, he has first-round NFL Draft potential.
