FINAL REPORT
Roger McCreary is a versatile corner who can play inside or outside. He has solid athleticism, plays with good hips, and has good short-area quickness. He has improved year over year in both press man and off coverage.
McCreary is a ball-hawking defender who aims to take the ball away. He Possesses what might be the best man-to-man coverage ability in the 2022 class, always in an opposing receiver's hip pocket in a good position to make a play. When receivers can gain separation, McCreary closes fast to make a play on the football. His improvement in zone coverage is notable and something he may eventually excel at due to his desire to try to take the ball away. He plays with great awareness and route anticipation.
As a run defender, McCreary, who has experience playing the safety position, should consider moving to the nickel corner where we project he may have the most success. He is an excellent tackler, and his physical style of play and his ability to play tight against a team's top slot WR will be an asset in the NFL.
