Had Waddle to low since the injury and the rise of Smith as the number one. The reality, Waddle was on pace for a season similar to Smith before he was injured.
Other Considerations If Available:
Alabama WR Jaylen Waddle or Alabama WR DeVonta Smith or Virginia Tech CB Caleb Farley or USC IOL/OT Alijah Vera Tucker or Virginia Tech OT Christian Darrisaw or Alabama IDL Christian Barmore
The Cardinals just missed on Kyle Pitts, who they likely would be inclined to take, especially if he were to fall to them in this spot. The Cardinals need to upgrade at WR and the interior of their defensive line. The Cardinals began the 2020 season hot before spiraling off late and missing the postseason making this a make or break year in 2021. They could add to their WR group by adding a weapon opposite of DeAndre Hopkins or go with the best available interior defensive lineman. In our initial mock draft back in January, we targeted a defensive back for the Cardinals due to the expected departure of Patrick Peterson, Dre Kirkpatrick, Johnathan Joseph to free agency. They need a corner like Jaycee Horn from South Carolina, a player that excelled in man-to-man scenarios to fit the Vance Joseph scheme. That's the route we took back in January. We see a scenario where the top three DB's on the board go before the Cardinals can snag one, but if available, they might address their need at CB. Another need is on the offensive line, but they have options to re-sign Kelvin Beachum, and they have Marcus Gilbert set to return from his opt-out and 2020 third-round pick Josh Jones poised to make a push for the starting job. After these three positions, the center and right guard were the weak links on their offensive line. Adding a WR is a possibility if one of the top WR's fall to them.
