Pitts is a special player who fits the mold of what NFL GM's and coaches are looking for in today's football. He can move around the formation, play inline, and split out wide. He is very athletic, with great hands. Pitts, a former QB, is an elite athlete with an elite skill set. Whoever drafts him will be getting an elite talent.
Other Considerations If Available:
Penn State LB Micah Parsons or Ohio State QB Justin Fields or Florida TE Kyle Pitts Trade Up or Trade Back
The Panthers have several needs; they have yet to replace Luke Kuechly's leadership and production at LB, they can also use a dynamic pass rusher off the edge. On offense, they could go a myriad of ways. They could upgrade the TE position; the interior offensive line could use improvement as well. Some available mock drafts show them taking a QB if one is either available in this spot or by way of trading up. Some mock drafts show the Panthers trading up to snag Justin Fields, and there is a mock where they stay at eight and take Mac Jones. The Panthers could trade back to gain more draft capital if they choose. We believe that if Micah Parsons falls to them, they may go the defensive route once again in 2021. In our first mock back in January, we projected them to take Alabama DB Patrick Suratin. With the situation changing, If they can somehow get Ohio State QB Justin Fields by way of trading up, or he magically falls into their lap, they will likely jump on the opportunity. Another potential scenario could be a trade for Jets QB Sam Darnold.
