PLAYSTYLE & SCHEME FIT
Daylen Everette is a physical, long-limbed boundary corner with a strong SEC pedigree and natural instincts in zone coverage. A former 5-star recruit and two-year starter at Georgia, Everette took a major leap in 2024, earning Third Team All-SEC honors and SEC Championship MVP after a two-interception performance against Texas. His 6’1” frame, length, and downhill closing ability make him an ideal fit in Cover 3 or quarters-based systems that emphasize zone integrity and tackling on the perimeter. While Everette’s hip fluidity and man coverage transitions remain inconsistent—especially against sudden route runners—he’s competitive at the catch point and can disrupt passing lanes with timing and anticipation. His run support and ability to shed blocks are better than advertised, adding value as a perimeter defender. With refinement in press technique and man leverage, Everette has the tools to start early in a zone-heavy scheme with CB2/CB1 upside down the line.
CEILING GRADE ANALYSIS
Mid-Level Starter Potential (60-64)
A solid, dependable starter with the potential to exceed expectations. They have good athleticism and tools but may lack elite traits. While they show flashes of high-level play, they also have some notable weaknesses that must be developed. These players often need 2-3 years to establish themselves.
