Top 5 OT 2020 NFL Draft

The top five offensive tackles in the 2020 NFL draft are as talented as any tackle group we have ever seen. Choosing a top five proved to be difficult because there are eight tackles in this draft that have ten-year potential.

Iowa OT Tritan Wirfs

Wirfs is our number one rated OT in the 2020 NFL draft. Wirfs was a two-time shot put, and discus champ in high school is a superbly freakish athlete for a man his size. Wirfs crushed the forty, vertical, and broad jump at the 2020 combine proving his athleticism. Wirfs possesses excellent lateral quickness. His strength allows him to move defenders. Wirfs thrived in Iowa's zone running scheme. He did struggle as a freshman in pass pro but quickly improved from giving up four sacks in 2017 to only two in 2018-19 combined.

Tristan Wirfs 2020 NFL Combine

Most scouts knew Wirfs would be a workout warrior entering the 2020 combine, and yet he was able to still "wow" the scouts by posting a 4.85 forty, and 36.5" vertical. Wirfs is an exceptional athlete who has improved his game each year while at Iowa.

Wirfs at RT, or LT at Next Level

Wirfs played RT 81% of the time in 2019. He has the versatility to play on either side of the line, though it may be more beneficial for him to play RT early on eventually making the transition to the left side. Either way, Wirfs projects well on either side of the line.
