2020 Pac 12 Championship Game Recap

Oregon didn't win their division, and they only got into the championship because Washington dropped out due to the pandemic. The Ducks had not won a game in a month, yet when it mattered the most, they were able to execute on defense and do enough on offense to win.

Game MVP

Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux won game MVP with five tackles (two for loss) and a sack. Tyler Shough threw two touchdown passes for the Ducks (4-2), and transfer QB Anthony Brown would be inserted on goal to go, and short-yardage situations threw two TD's of his own.

Six Pac 12 Titles in Twelve Years

Despite losing its two previous games to Oregon State and Cal, Oregon seized the opportunity to win their sixth Pac-12 championship in 12 years.

Game Recap

For USC, Kedon Slovis passed for 320 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. USC fell behind 14-0 by the eight-minute mark of the first QTR after two interceptions from Slovis led to TD drives by the Ducks, and unlike other games this season, the Trojans never caught up.

Oregon led 31-17 with less than 10 minutes to go, but Bru McCoy caught a TD pass on fourth down for the Trojans. They would get the ball back with 4:43 left in the game, USC got to midfield, but Slovis threw the first fourth-quarter interception of his career. Nickel CB Jamal Hill made an athletic play on a bad throw from Slovis.

Oregon would run the clock down to 23 seconds, and USC would get one last shot that would end in a missed hail mary.
