Fantasy Scout 365: WK3 Waiver Wire Digging Deep After WK2 Loss.

Weekly two man keeper league update

I am participating in two leagues, one of which I have decided to feature weekly. If you are not familiar and would like to catch up on previous post they are listed just below here with links.

Fantasy Draft: Pro Football Scout 365 Focuses on Keeper League Strategies and Sleepers.

Fantasy Football Scout 365: Wk1 Takeaways From Putin's Puppets 151.3 Point Explosion.

Fantasy Scout 365: Players to Target As the Waiver Wire Looms (Auction), Major Trade Accepted.

Week two final score. My team lost and I left some valuable points on the bench that could have helped catapult my team to a 2-0 start rather than a 1-1 start. What is more frustrating is that I also trade Kurt Cousins for Tom Brady the week prior and Cousins had a phenomenal week two. The goal with the cousin's trade was to gain another asset at RB with stronger PPR potential. The deal was more than Kurt Cousins, I also sent Alex Collins and acquired James White and the Jaguars defense. Yes, I am breaking all of the conventional fantasy rules by hoarding two defenses. I did this for a reason. The top reason is that I do not trust the Vikings offensive line and I decided to sell Cousins while he was hot and gain Tom Brady, and James White who has arguably been Brady's top receiver through the first two weeks of the season (16 targets, 11 receptions).

The upside of my trade last week may prove to break even regarding point value, but I trust Brady unlike Cousins will stay upright behind his offensive line the entire season.

The other factors I looked into were the defenses Brady faces in the AFC (especially the AFC East) v. the defenses Cousins will meet in the NFC. Tom Brady is projected to finish number one among fantasy QB's with 340 fantasy points from week 3 to week 17, while Cousins is expected to finish 14th scoring 280 points. The trade between the two QB's shows a positive gain in fantasy value of 60 points. The trade of Alex Collins (16th, 168 points), for James White (33rd, 123 points) which is a loss of 45 points. The goal with White is to use him situationally or when necessary with significant upside based on matchups.

Waiver Wire

Tyler Boyd- He is the Bengals clear number two receiver and is has a low ownership percentage according to ESPN of 1.2%.

Andy Dalton- I may grab him after the auction to secure a backup for Brady for the latter part of the year during Brady's bye week. In Dalton's last 16 games under offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, Dalton has racked up 3,434 passing yards with 31 TDs and only nine picks. He’s also done most of that without contributions from the likes of Tyler Eifert, Joe Mixon, and John Ross. Dalton shows an 18.2% ownership on ESPN.

Ryan Fitzpatrick- Fitzpatrick is an unbelievable throw god who will not fail. My advice if he is available, GET HIM. He is putting up historical numbers and may replace Jameis Winston for the rest of this season. Unfortunately for me, my opponent, this week had Fitzpatrick on his bench and decided a week ago to start Matthew Stafford; I am sure he will not make that mistake this week. I expect because I am facing him he will score 50 fantasy points this week. ESPN shows 31% owned.
