Super Bowl LIII Preview: Patriots Offense v. Rams Defense on 3rd Down Previous Playoff Opponent

I spoke in a previous post (Part: Getting Brady and The Patriots Off The Field On 3rd Down Will be Key For Rams) about the significance of third down and how important it will be for the Rams defense to force 3rd and obvious pass situations instead of 3rd and 3 or 4 yards to go. The Patriots offense averaged 4.00 yards per 3rd down and converted 65% last week against the Chiefs in the AFC title game. Meanwhile, the Rams forced the Saints offense into an average of 3rd down and 8 yards to go. Brady in overtime v. the Chiefs with the game on the line managed to convert three consecutive 3rd down plays of more than 8 yards leading the Patriots to victory.
