Week 13 DFS (DK) Review
Week 13 started well for many of my lineups and fizzled late in the main slate as Lamar Jackson was nearly knocked out of the game by his teammate with a kick to the face. He was rolling before that play and still finished with 20 fantasy pts.
Andrew Luck hit the floor with 10.52 pts on DK. I chose him as a nice contrarian play against an up and down Jags defense. As it turned out the Jags D matched up perfectly against the Colts offense. In fact, all three of Luck, Goff and Cousins scored 10 pts on the DK main slate in week 13. Luckily, (no pun intended), I only had Luck in one lineup, cousins in another and zero Goff. I did switch luck on Sunday morning from many of my lineups for Cam Newton at the last second because you know (gut feeling). If I had not done this, I would have posted a week 13 goose egg in every tournament I had entered into losing about $43 I had invested for the week.
For those who had Kelce instead of Tyreek Hill, you chose correctly. Kelce had 42.8 pts on DK to Tyreeks 6. Hill was priced extremely high (9100) and appeared to have a chalk matchup, while Kelce was priced as the top TE ($7000). This would have been a good week to go two TEs with a combo of Ebron and Kelce. I did not choose Kelce; I had in Ebron in every DK lineup and zero Kelce.
The Wide Receivers were a plenty, and if you had Keenan Allen (39.8), Zay Jones (24.7), Chris Godwin (24.1), or any combo with two of the three with Philip Lindsey, you won some decent cash especially if you were able to fit Travis Kelce.
The running backs did not disappoint. Philip Lindsey was a monster priced at 5400 on DK scoring 31.9 pts. I had Philip Lindsey and Christian McCaffrey (34.1) in the majority of my DK lineups with a combo of either Aaron Jones (15.2) or Spencer Ware (12.2).
The top lineup in one of the tournaments I was in scored 226 pts on DK. His lineup included Mahomes (33.0), Cohen (37.6), Yeldon (13.5), Davis (14.4), Sutton (18.5), Godwin (24.1), Kelce (42.8), Gurley (34.5). The guy, or gal hit the jackpot ($5k) by going with Cohen, and Kelce on a week where Ebron was priced so low and going with the weekly chalk of Todd Gurley.
With Week 13 now in the rearview mirror, we have new life in week 14.
Week 14 (DK) Main Slate.
the week 14 main slate is vast and strong and without the Rams offense. This weeks top DFS RB projection has Christian McCaffrey at $9300 in a matchup against a cleveland defense that ranks 4th in the NFL in total RB volume allowed with 369 total targets and att combined. The catch is the amount of targets through the Air RB's receive (83) where the Browns are 12th in the league in total RB targets allowed. The catch is that the browns allow the 4th most yds per target to RB's in the NFL. Try to fit McCaffrey into a few of your lineups against a reeling yet capable browns defense.
Saquan Barkley appears to have a difficult matchup v. the Redskins, but in week 8 Barkley did post a solid 20 pts on DK. Barkley only had 38 yds rushing but he was able to snag 9 receptions on 10 targets for 51 yds. I expect that the game will be messy because of the chance of inclement weather, in addition to Mark Sanchez in at QB for the Redskins. If the Redskins struggle to sustain drives it will give the Giant a lot of opportunities on offense and increase Barkley's chances of having a big game.
Mid Tier Priced Plays at RB
Philip Lindsey is a steal at $6300 on the DK main slate. San Francisco is 11th worst in RB volume allowed with 351 total targets and att combined. They allow just six yds per RB target through the air. The 49ers also rank 12 worst in DK EFF. alloing 1 fantasy point per every 5.27 yds.
Another good option at the same price point is James White who faces a Dolphins defense that ranks 2nd worst RB volume and 11th worst in RB yds per target (7.03).
RB On the Cheap
Jaylen Samuel's will take over most of the James Conner volume. Oakland allows 7.41 yds per target to opposing RBs.
