PLAYSTYLE & SCHEME FIT
David Bailey enters the 2025 season as one of the most explosive and versatile edge defenders in college football. A former Freshman All-American at Stanford, Bailey transferred to Texas Tech after three highly productive seasons that included 14.5 sacks, 22.5 TFLs, and 7 forced fumbles. He led Stanford in sacks and forced fumbles in 2024, earning a 93.2 PFF pass-rush grade—the highest in the FBS. At 6’3”, 250 pounds, Bailey possesses the burst, bend, and relentless motor to win off the edge but also shows impressive fluidity in space, giving him legitimate three-down versatility. His ideal NFL fit is as a 3-4 outside linebacker who can drop in coverage or play on the line in even fronts. With another strong season in Lubbock, Bailey could lock in Day 2 draft status and rise into Round 1 with improved strength and rush diversity.
CEILING GRADE ANALYSIS
High-End Starter Potential (65-69)
A player expected to become a top-tier starter within their first few years. They possess strong physical tools and good technical skills but may have some limitations in their game. With development, they can reach near-elite levels and provide consistent impact at their position.
