PLAYSTYLE & SCHEME FIT

Peter Woods enters the 2025 season as one of the top-ranked prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft and a potential No. 1 overall pick. A rare blend of power, explosiveness, and alignment versatility at 6’3”, 315 pounds, Woods has played both defensive tackle and edge for Clemson and thrived despite being miscast at times. Over his first two seasons, Woods posted an elite 83.3 PFF grade while splitting time between interior and edge roles—highlighting his dominance as a run defender and his disruptive interior presence. His first step quickness, violent hands, and natural leverage make him a nightmare for offensive linemen, and he’s already shown he can anchor against double teams or explode through gaps on stunts. Woods fits any NFL front—odd or even—as a 3-tech, 5-tech, or hybrid base end. He projects best in an aggressive one-gap scheme where he can shoot gaps and collapse the pocket. If his production continues to rise in 2025, Woods could follow in the footsteps of Quinnen Williams or Chris Jones as a game-wrecking interior force.

CEILING GRADE ANALYSIS

Near Elite (70-74)
A high-caliber prospect who is expected to become a significant contributor by Year 2. These players have outstanding physical tools and strong football IQ, with only minor flaws in their game. They demonstrate consistency at a high level and project as future Pro Bowl-caliber players if properly developed.
